About Susan Ball-Kell
A licensed veterinarian since 1981, Dr. Susan Ball-Kell has concentrated her career in the specialized field of pathology of laboratory animals and environmental toxicology. She presently provides expert digital imaging of histologic slides and comprehensive microscopic analysis of laboratory animal research tissues as the president of Global Path Imaging and Consulting, Ltd., in Metamora, Illinois. Since 1993, Dr. Susan Ball-Kell has also served as a clinical associate professor of pathology on several campuses of the University of Illinois. Today, she teaches courses such as the Pathology of Rabbits and Rodents as an adjunct professor at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in Urbana.
Dr. Ball-Kell embarked upon her academic career at Michigan State University in East Lansing, where she earned a bachelor of science in medical technology, followed by a doctor of veterinary medicine. She later returned to Michigan State to complete dual doctoral studies in pathology and environmental toxicology. Dr. Susan Ball-Kell received her PhD with high honors before embarking on her successful career as an educator, research collaborator, and consultant.
